Because of their diagnosis and the complex nature of their treatment, children who are living with cancer can display all sorts of psychosocial difficulties - such as anxiety, depression, behavioural problems, learning disorders and post-traumatic stress. Art and play are natural and fun ways for them to explore and solve their problems.

Art therapy provides psychological help in a child-friendly way. It provides an outlet to deal with the diagnosis, to accept the illness and to get motivated for treatment. Art and art therapy can help children and their families deal with issues related to their illness and understand their emotions.
Believing in the power of art therapy, our new project aims to improve the quality of life for hospitalised children. Your donation will help to provide individual and group art therapy in three different paediatric cancer units. Some 50 patients in Cerrahpasa, Capa and Okmaydani hospitals will benefit from this project for nine months. All three of these hospitals are in dire need of help...
To be part of this project, you can:
Donate 50 TL a month. This will go towards paying for art materials, art therapists and the assistants. We need just 40 families to donate this amount in order to fully support the project.
Volunteer: you or your children...Lola will be organising special workshops where children can come and prepare activities for the children in hospital, as well as create artwork for the walls of the cancer wards.
Donate unused art materials such as acrylic paint, brushes, canvases, drawing paper, coloured pencils, oil pastels, masks or wooden boxes to paint, paint containers, play dough, etc...The cancer units are also in need of toys (Okmeydan has NONE...), clothes, bedding...anything to brighten up the place.
